At Paris Fashion Week, Jean Paul Gaultier presented a couture collection inspired by the late Amy Winehouse, and her father Mitch recently spoke out against the tribute, calling it in “bad taste.”
“The family was upset to see those pictures, they were a total shock,” Winehouse told The Sun. “We're proud of her influence on fashion but find black veils on models, smoking cigarettes with a barbershop quartet singing her music in bad taste. It portrays a view of Amy when she was not at her best, and glamorizes some of the more upsetting times in her life. That's upsetting for her family.”
Making matters worse, the Jean Paul Gaultier show fell two days after the six-month anniversary of Amy Winehouse's death. Mitch Winehouse says that no one from the famed fashion house alerted them of the tribute. “No one asked us for permission or offered to make a donation to the foundation,” he said. “This is purely about Gaultier making money, and that's wrong.”
Do you think Gaultier was right to pay tribute to Amy Winehouse the way he did?
Michael Fassbender is on the cover of the February 2012 issue of Interview magazine, and his accompanying interview with Josh Brolin is titled, appropriately enough, “Man on Fire.”
Fassbender may be ubiquitous for film fans and magazine readers this month, but he revealed that he's intentionally stayed out of touch. “I just went off for two months traveling around Europe on a motorcycle and pretty much turned my phone off,” he explained. “I did 5,000 miles with my dad. We went through Holland, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Italy… and then I did Spain and France by myself.”
Fassbender also explained why he's drawn to certain characters. “Well, I guess it's the drama, isn't it? It's the conflict. If there's really something at stake, then the questions that we can ask are a lot more severe and force us to take a look at things without the sugar coating.”
Sebastian Kim captured the following images for the Interview magazine feature on Michael Fassbender. What do you think of the fiery flourishes?

Park City Live rang in the opening weekend of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival with two powerhouse performers: Afrojack and Ludacris. Flanked by his rumored girlfriend Paris Hilton, Afrojack DJed in front of a packed house. The following night, Mary J. Blige supported Ludacris' show from the VIP booth.
Previous Sundance attendees will probably remember the Park City Live space as Harry O's. It's since undergone new ownership and a complete makeover ahead of Sundance. In the days to come, Red Foo & the Party Rock Crew of LMFAO, Deadmau5 and OneRepublic will all perform at Park City Live.

The accolades continue rolling in for Angelina Jolie and her feature directorial debut, “In the Land of Blood and Honey”; most recently, Jolie won a Stanley Kramer Award at the 23rd Annual Producers Guild Awards.
“The cast is from all sides of the conflict, and they crossed the religious and cultural divide to come together to make this film,” said Jolie in her acceptance speech. “It took great bravery. This belongs to them. This is their story, their film.”
The Stanley Kramer Award recognizes individuals, producers or motion pictures that draw attention to social issues in “an accessible and elevating fashion.” Other productions that won awards at the Producers Guild Awards include “The Adventures of Tintin,” “The Artist” and “Boardwalk Empire.”
